Attimes, we just have to evaluate what we are doing in ministry. We have to check out what we are really doing in Jesus’ name. We need to look at the essence of what we do as well as the effectiveness of how we do things.
But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way. [1 Cor. 14:40, NIV]
Just look at how we handle things. Keep the Lord’s Word in perspective as we do so. From there, we should learn if we are doing right by Him. He sets the standard. We are to strive to live up to it.

Pray Always

The Word says for us to pray without ceasing (1 Thes. 5:17).  An emphasis is placed on continual prayer in the life of a believer.  In essence, what we are to do is remain in constant contact, connection and communion with the Lord.  We need Him every step of the way, and every step of the way should be filled with prayer.  We claim to love Him.  We should stay in touch with Him.  We say we need Him.  We should stay in close contact with him.  It is up to us to seek Him out.  If we stay in communion with Him, we are closer to the answer than we think.  He is able.  We just have to trust in Him with full faith and accept what He offers as answer to our issues.  Stay prayed up and powered up.

I dropped some coins in the Salvation Army pot but it didn’t make a sound (probably hit somebody’s bills instead of the bottom of the buclet).  I kept on and passed the person ringing that bell and he just looked at me.  No pleasantries.  No thank you. Just a look.  I was instantly reminded of how we should do our charitable deeds with the Father in mind.  No one else has to see it or even hear it.  God saw and knew what I did.  It just served as a healthy reminder to do it for the right reasons.  Matthew 6:1-4

What do you do with your day? Is it all about whatcomes your way? Do you make plans that are interrupted by other things that seem to be other people’s priorities? I used to do that. It made me sick. I mean literally sick.
I learned to prioritize my day with necessary tasks and necessary “down” time. Everything that comes your way may not be for you to handle. I mean that. Whether it is business, ministry or other things, take the time to seriously evaluate if this is something that you need to do yourself.
You have options where you can:

  • Delegate the work to someone else who is capable
  • Divide the work between you and others
  • Delay the work until other priorities have been met

Don’t get me wrong. It will have to be done. it just doesn’t have to be done by you and you alone.

God delivers us right on time.  We can be in the thick of some real mess, but God does it right on time.  Our best efforts can’t do it.  It is up to God.  He delivers us when He wants to.  He delivers us exactly how He wants to.  We don’t have to worry about whether god is on our side.  He delivers just in time, just the way He wants to, and with just enough to keep us holding on.

The Lord is called strength, a strong tower, a fortess, a stronghold, and even a very present help.  What have you called Him lately? Has He been your best defense? Identify who and what He is to you.  Is He your Redeemer and the Rock of your Salvation? Is He still closer than a brother? Call Him by how you have known Him.

Look throughout the Bible.  Find a passage where someone has an encounter with Jesus.  That person experiences a newfound joy.  Whether it’s Andrew bringing Simon his brother to Jesus or the Samritan woman at the well, leaving her bucket to tell the entire town, it expresses and accentuates what happens upon the discovery of Jesus beyond a mere man.  Imagine that such newfound joy is available to us.  It is available to those whom we lead to Christ.  It awaits those who seek Him earnestly with a broken heart and a contritie spirit.  Such joy is available and accessible.  It can be had by anyone who will confess the name of Jesus for forgiveness of their sins, accepting Him as their personal Savior.

John 3:16 says a whole lot. I mean really read it to yourself. Take it all in. Letthe words saturate into your soul.
God did something out of love.
No, let me back up.
God did something for us, who surely did not deserve it, out His love for us. He got the ball rolling for us to be redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, His only begotten son, that we might have eternal life and not perish based upon our belief in Him.
Wow! He has the power to destroy us for our sins. You know, those thoughts that creep in when you let your mind wander. He can call us on our thoughts, words and actions. Pick any of those and you can see that we are sinful. We might control our actions, but watch those words. And, Lord, have mercy about the way we have let our minds wander into different areas. Truthfully, we needed Jesus to do what He did on Calvary for us.
Look at John 3:16. Look at what love will really cause someone to do for someone else. The word is sacrifice. What he sacrificed for us cannot be repaid with anything we have or that we can gain.
Hold on to the words that you read in John 3:16.
