The Word of God compels us to take some form of action with it. We are called to take the Word into our hearts and minds, then take action with the Word. Unfortunately, many have used the Word to destroy more than for edification.
The Word was used to justify chattel slavery, considering the enslaved Africans destined to bondage due to the “Curse of Ham” that was interpreted from a biblical story in Genesis. The Crusades were launched based upon the Word and the quest for the Holy Land. The Word was used as the rationale for considering the handicapped and mentally ill as “unclean.” If we are not watchful and prayerful, others will continue to use the Word of God to mislead and offer false teachings on everything that spans from tithing and prosperity to the last days and end of the world.
The Word is worth fighting for. We have to fight for the integrity of the Word, ensuring that we uphold the Word. The Word speaks for itself. It is truth. Both the promises and prophecies of the Word come true. We just have to fight the good fight to continually proclaim the Word.
