There is a God

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” . . . – Psalm 14:1 (NIV)

From what the Bible says, an atheist is considered a fool.

(Psalm 53:1 says the same thing as Psalm 14:1)

To avoid falling into foolishness, consider the evidence of God’s creative existence.

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained – Psalm 8:3 (NASB)

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. – John 1:3 (NIV)

… When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. – Genesis 5:1 (NIV)

The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world  and those who dwell therein, – Psalm 24:1 (ESV)

As we go further in our personal Bible study and devotional time, pray and meditate on God’s presence  and seek His confirmation of His own existence in your life as Lord and Master.

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.– 1 Corinthians 13:11, NKJV

I started to realize that I had not changed much.

No, I had aged somewhat.

Years had been added to my span of life.

But I had not changed much.

Childish things that Paul wrote about in Corinthians were still present in my life.  Childish ways still were part of my very nature and being.  Childish words escaped from my lips as if I had to filter and the Holy Spirit had never come upon me, or even dwelled within me.

I had not left the old man behind.

I had come to realization that I had simply dragged him along, bringing him with me to the foot of the cross and walking away from the cross with him still attached as apart of me.

I needed to live in the newness of of Christ.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. – 2 Corinthians 5:17, NKJV

If I simply learned to live in Christ, I had a chance to live as a new creation in Paul’s words.  I could begin to leave that old man behind and live as something new, different and changed in Christ.

I have begun to make those changes.  I have already started on my way.

Pray for soul’s struggles.

Pray for my victory over trials, tests and temptations.

Pray that God be glorified, even in my down times, and that praise for Him continually be in my mouth.

God is making a new me out of me, out of all the wretchedness of the filthy rag that I brought to Him when I accepted Him.

In Hebrews 11:3, we learn that the world itself was created by the word of God.  God spoke and the world was formed.  God spoke and light separated day and night.  It was by the word of God that the entire world was created by God.  As the Creator, God created the world after His own nature, seeing that each step was good along the way.  He created such a place for the dwelling place of the ones that He created in His own image to live in harmony with the rest of His creations.  Oddly enough, unless we drive a hybrid, recycle everything we can, and live a “simple” life, we may not be considered “eco-friendly” these days.  Yet, God gave us dominion over His creation to rule the land with goodness.  Don’t just go green.  Go with God.

Where’s the Change?

People say that they want to live changed lives. Choirs sing Negro spirituals that say: ‘LORD, I know I’ve been changed.’ If we are not careful, though, we tend to drfit from the change that we name and claim to a state of change that settles and becomes normalcy. Make today the day where say that you will live in the change that Christ Jesus created in you. After all, the Word teaches us that if any man be in Christ, he is indeed a new creation. Live out your change day by day as new creation in Christ.
