“The most important aspect of Christianity is not the work we do, but the relationship we maintain and the surrounding influence and qualities produced by that relationship. That is all God asks us to give our attention to, and it is the one thing that is continually under attack.”— Oswald Chambers

  1. Why did you say in your statement “those whom He calls to repentance”? God calls all to repentance.

    1. Great question! This took some study for a while when I really had to look into salvation as opposed to simply looking at salvation. The elect of God is oftentimes not shared with many due to a failure to grasp God’s intent through “election.” It is much like or akin to predestination. What we sense is that God intends for all to repent and turn back to Him, shunning their own wicked ways, but many fail to accept His invitation through Jesus Christ. For instance, five-point Calvinism uses the TULIP, an acronymn to describe the state of man and God’s offer of salvation, and the “U” is Undconditional Election that states that some choose to accept salvation and others do not. Those who accept are the “elect of God.” See Ephesians 1:4-8; Romans 9:11, 15, 21.

OUTSTANDING response! Powerful point that is often overlooked by Christian with a topical understanding of the text.
